Abstract

This project examines whether prolonged exposure to war affects empathy and creates compassion fatigue. In this cross-sectional study, we compare people who have experienced prolonged war (i.e., from Israel and Ukraine) with people who have not. we measure empathy using the four subscales of the IRI (Davis, 1983): empathic concern, personal distress, perspective taking, and fantasy. In addition, we will measure compassion fatigue.
