Defining and Understanding Motivational Inertia
Abstract
Initiating a goal-directed task seems to require more effort than continuing a task, even when the components of the task remain unchanged. Despite the significant implications of ‘motivational inertia’, there have been few scientific attempts to describe and understand it. Hence, the aim of this project is to describe, understand, and identify strategies to overcome ‘motivational inertia’.
