Information highlighting in written utterances: adjective vs. time – entire sentences at once, targeted information
Abstract
The aim of this experiment is to test whether highlighting an information using boldface in written sentences affects its immediate recall. In the experimental condition, the highlighted information will be targeted by the comprehension question. In the control condition, no information will be highlighted. Filler items will vary with respect to highlighting and question targeting: they may contain highlighted information targeted or not targeted by the comprehension question, or no highlighting at all. Comprehension questions will target either an adjective or a temporal information. We predict that highlighted information will be recalled more accurately than non-highlighted information.
