Abstract

This scoping review intends to summarize the literature on the interplay between physical activity, menstrual irregularities (amenorrhea, oligomenorrhea, dysmenorrhea, menorrhagia, polymenorrhea) and common conditions that may cause menstrual irregularities (endometriosis, polycystic ovarian syndrome, premenstrual syndrome). There are many inconsistencies in the literature regarding this topic which leads us to believe that a more thorough understanding of the relationship between physical activity and menstrual irregularities is crucial. This scoping review hopes to address gaps in women's health and inform future research.
