Preoperative consultation by the perfusionist nurse in cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass: a scoping review protocol
Abstract
Abstract Objective: To map and synthesize the available evidence in the literature regarding the preoperative consultation performed by the perfusionist nurse in the care of adult patients undergoing cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB), identifying its components, instruments, content, forms, flows, and care actions. Method: A scoping review conducted according to the recommendations of the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) and reported according to the PRISMA-ScR checklist. The review will seek to answer the questions: "How is the preoperative consultation of the perfusionist nurse with the adult patient undergoing cardiac surgery with CPB described in the literature?" and "What components, instruments, content, forms, flows, and care actions are used to operationalize the preoperative consultation of the perfusionist nurse?". Primary studies, reviews, guidelines, and grey literature will be included, without restriction of language or period. Expected Outcome: It is expected that the findings will support the development and validation of a nursing care protocol for the preoperative visit by the perfusionist nurse, strengthening evidence-based practice and patient safety.
