Expectations for Good Death Among Cancer Patients and Their Informal Caregivers: A Scoping Review
Abstract
To date, no study has synthesized the existing evidence regarding the good death expectations of cancer patients and their informal caregivers. Therefore, there is an urgent need to conduct a systematic and cutting-edge integrative analysis of the good death expectations among patients with advanced cancer and their informal caregivers, so as to clarify the core connotations and key dimensions of such expectations. This will lay an evidence-based foundation and provide practical guidance for delivering high-quality palliative care services to this growing population with prominent needs. To this end, the present scoping review aims to systematically map the specific content of good death expectations among advanced cancer patients and their informal caregivers, and to further explore the main factors that shape and differentiate these expectations.
