Abstract

A growing scientific and social movement has recommended open science practices (e.g., data and code sharing, pre-registration, and reporting guidelines) as relevant components for research transparency and reproducibility. Evidence on the adoption of these practices in Brazilian audiology research is lacking. This metascience study will analyze audiology articles published between 2021 and 2025 in three Brazilian speech-language pathology journals indexed in SciELO. Based on previous meta-science protocols, six dimensions will be identified and quantified: (1) data availability statement, (2) availability of raw/anonymized data, (3) availability of statistical analysis code, (4) study pre-registration, (5) mention of or adherence to reporting guidelines, and (6) replication studies. The yearly occurrence of these indicators will be presented in tables. Data for each indicator will be analyzed for trends using the Cochran-Armitage test; proportions with a 95% confidence interval and odds ratios will be estimated to quantify the association of each indicator.
