Abstract

Objective:To systematically summarize the application status of symptom monitoring and intervention for patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) based on mobile health technology, clarify the technical types, core content of monitoring and intervention, and application effects, so as to provide high-quality evidence-based basis for home health management of COPD. Methods:Following the "Participants-Concept-Context (PCC)" principle, Chinese and English databases were systematically searched. Two researchers independently completed literature screening, data extraction and quality verification. Finally, 20 eligible interventional studies were included for scoping review analysis. Results:The included studies covered 6 countries and regions including China, the United States, and the United Kingdom (13 Chinese and 7 English studies, 2015-2025), involving 10 types of mobile health technologies, such as WeChat-related platforms, APPs, Internet of Things cloud platforms, remote patient monitoring (RPM) systems, and machine learning prediction systems. The monitoring content was expanded to a five-dimensional structure including physiological indicators, clinical symptoms, environmental factors, lifestyle, and non-invasive ventilation (NIV) treatment parameters. The intervention model formed a system of "basic guidance + advanced early warning intervention". Among them, the highest 7-day prediction accuracy of acute exacerbation reached 92.1%, which could reduce the hospitalization rate by 61.8% and the emergency department visits by 43.7%-60.4%, while significantly improving patients' self-management ability, quality of life and lung function. Conclusion:Mobile health technology shows a diversified and precise development trend in COPD management, and both Chinese and English studies have confirmed its clinical effectiveness and feasibility. In the future, it is necessary to focus on the aging-friendly optimization of technology, the construction of research standardization and localized clinical transformation, strengthen multidisciplinary collaboration, and improve the universality and sustainability of technology.
