Spatiotemporal gait parameters across different walking surfaces in healthy adults: A scoping review.
Abstract
Research on gait adaptability is currently fragmented across biomechanics, podiatry, and ergonomics. A unified map does not yet exist to categorize how healthy adults acting as the physiological baseline adjust spatiotemporal parameters when transitioning from ideal to complex surfaces. This scoping review is essential to consolidate these findings and identify which gait metrics are most sensitive to environmental changes. Establishing this baseline is a necessary step before analyzing gait risks in clinical or elderly populations.
