Improving Knowledge and Attitudes of Future Physicians and Nurses Toward People with Epilepsy: An Interventional Study in the West Bank
Abstract
This research project evaluates the impact of a structured epilepsy awareness program on medical and nursing students in Palestine. The study aims to identify baseline knowledge and attitudes toward epilepsy, implement an educational intervention, and measure changes in understanding, confidence, and stigma reduction. Using pre- and post-intervention questionnaires, the project assesses improvements in seizure management knowledge, attitudes toward social inclusion, and readiness to provide care. The expected outcomes include significant increases in knowledge scores, enhanced confidence in handling seizures, and reduced misconceptions and stigma. Ultimately, the project seeks to provide evidence supporting the integration of epilepsy education into healthcare curricula, contributing to better patient care and improved quality of life for individuals with epilepsy.
