Abstract

This systematic scoping review aims to give a comprehensive overview of all approaches to support rehabilitation post stroke in rural and low resource settings in LMIC. It will identify the extent of research undertaken, location and populations covered. It will characterise the nature of rehabilitation interventions that have been developed and/or evaluated including their theoretical basis, development, and delivery details. It will summarise findings in relation to intervention effectiveness, fidelity, acceptability and feasibility. Identifying key features as well as current gaps in the literature should facilitate the development of interventions to support the most rapidly rising population of stroke survivors who currently have access to the least services.
