A Bottleneck Reduction Framework for the Riemann Hypothesis via Operator–Algebraic Trace Rigidity
Abstract
This work presents an operator-algebraic reformulation of the Riemann Hypothesis as a trace rigidity problem on the adèle class space. Starting from the Weil explicit formula, the nontrivial zeros of the Riemann zeta function are interpreted as spectral data associated with a canonical trace on a convolution algebra equipped with a natural scaling action. Rather than proposing an unconditional proof, the paper isolates a precise bottleneck: the conjectured uniqueness of a positive, scaling-invariant, Fourier self-dual trace. Under this clearly stated assumption, the Riemann Hypothesis follows as a formal consequence. The contribution of the paper is structural. It clarifies the logical architecture of operator-algebraic approaches to the Riemann Hypothesis and identifies the exact rigidity statement on which such approaches depend.
