Abstract

This scoping review systematically maps the existing preclinical evidence regarding the application of umbilical cord–derived mesenchymal stem cells (UC-MSCs) in oral and maxillofacial surgery. The review focuses on regenerative outcomes in intraoral soft tissue healing, maxillofacial bone regeneration, dental implant osseointegration, temporomandibular joint repair, and emerging cell-free therapeutic approaches such as MSC-derived exosomes. The study follows the PRISMA-ScR guidelines and applies the Population–Concept–Context (PCC) framework to identify research gaps and translational barriers toward clinical implementation.
