Layered Existentialism: A Multi-Layer Model of Human Psychological Regulation Under Existential and Biological Constraint
Abstract
Layered Existentialism is an interdisciplinary conceptual framework examining how human psychological stability emerges through interaction between automatic behavioral regulation, biological and nervous system constraint, narrative identity construction, and reflective meta-awareness. The framework proposes that psychological distress may arise when awareness and meaning development occur at a pace that exceeds biological or emotional integration capacity. This repository documents the ongoing theoretical development of the Layered Existentialism model, including conceptual manuscripts, pilot measurement instruments, and proposed empirical research directions. The framework is intended as an exploratory and descriptive model integrating perspectives from existential philosophy, psychology, neuroscience, and cognitive science. It is not intended as a diagnostic or therapeutic protocol and remains subject to empirical investigation and revision.
