Abstract

We will examine intended dietary substitutions following reductions in red and processed meat (RPM) among UK adults. Participants report how likely they would be to increase consumption across a range of food categories if they reduced RPM. Intended replacements are grouped a priori into nutritionally favourable and nutritionally unfavourable categories and analysed as mean indices. We will investigate sociodemographic, socioeconomic, and psychological correlates (time perspective, evaluations of RPM, and current RPM consumption) of these two intention indices. All materials (including the questionnaire and codebook), analysis code, and de-identified data will be shared on OSF.
