Memory for decisions in a game setting
Abstract
In previous experiments, participants had better memory for their correct decisions, and were biased to remember having been correct. However, given that correct decisions were less frequent than incorrect decisions, it remains open whether these effects were driven by accuracy or outcome salience. Here, we alter the task such that it is more common to obtain reward, to investigate whether these biases still exist after controlling for potential attentional effects. Additionally, we manipulate within subjects the availability of information about the ground-truth answer at the time of memory retrieval.
