Curricular games for teaching Biochemistry and metabolic pathways: an integrative review protocol on developments and methodologies published between 2015 and 2025

This is an integrative review protocol that constituted the first phase (needs and literature analysis) of a broader qualitative research project, anchored in the theoretical-methodological framework of Design-Based Research (DBR) (DBR-collective, 2003). The parent research adopts the instrumental single case study strategy (Stake, 1995), in which the development and evaluation of the ATP game are investigated in depth to provide insights into gamification applied to the teaching of Biochemistry.
