Yoga for Community Health Networks: A Scoping Review
Abstract
Objective: To map and synthesize the available evidence on the practice of yoga in community settings, with a particular focus on its integration within Primary Health Care and its contributions to community health networks and health promotion. Methods: A scoping review will be conducted in accordance with the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) methodology. The search strategy will be developed using the PCC framework (Population, Concept, and Context) and applied to the following databases: LILACS, PubMed/MEDLINE, Scopus, and Embase. Grey literature will be searched in the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations. Study selection will be performed independently by at least two reviewers, with disagreements resolved by consensus or by a third reviewer. Data will be extracted using a standardized form and synthesized through descriptive tables and a narrative and categorical synthesis, with an emphasis on qualitative findings. Expected Results: This scoping review is expected to identify how yoga has been implemented in community and Primary Health Care settings, including the contexts, organizational formats, and characteristics of the practices. The review is anticipated to map perceived outcomes related to health promotion, care processes, interprofessional practice, and the strengthening of community health networks. Additionally, it is expected to highlight methodological approaches, conceptual frameworks, and existing gaps in the literature, informing future research and supporting the development of context-sensitive health practices.
