Mapping Evidence on Pollutant Exposure and Viral Infections in Humans/Animals: A PRISMA-ScR Scoping Review
Abstract
This preregistration outlines a PRISMA-ScR/JBI systematic scoping review mapping evidence on associations between environmental heavy metals (e.g., lead) or air pollutants (e.g., PM2.5) exposure and viral outcomes (infection, severity, load, immunity) across humans, domestic animals, and wildlife. Objectives: Chart PCC distributions, identify One Health patterns/gaps for zoonotic spillover. Methods: PCC-guided search (WoS/Scopus/PubMed/Embase), dual screening/extraction, narrative synthesis/tables/charts (no meta/appraisal).
