Effects of school feeding and food systems interventions on health, nutrition, and educational outcomes of school-age children, and local food systems in low- and middle-income countries: A systematic review protocol
Abstract
This project is a systematic review examining the effects of school feeding interventions with explicit food systems components in low and middle income countries. It synthesizes evidence from randomized controlled trials and quasi experimental studies with comparison groups on impacts across nutrition, health, education, and food systems outcomes among school age children aged 5 to 19 years. The review aims to generate policy relevant evidence on how integrated school feeding programs can simultaneously improve child development outcomes and strengthen local agricultural value chains and food systems.
