Treatment for Pediatric Gender Dysphoria: A Living Overview of Systematic Reviews
Abstract
Over the past decade, the number of children and adolescents who question their sex or identify as transgender or nonbinary has increased substantially. This living overview will identify and include systematic reviews assessing the effects of psychotherapy, social transition, puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, surgeries. The overview will also evaluate their risk of bias, synthesize the available evidence, and assess the overall quality of that evidence. This overview will provide a regularly updated, comprehensive synthesis that reveals the best available evidence, clarifies the strengths and limitations of the evidence to better inform clinical practice, research priorities, and policy decision-making.
