THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PERCEIVED PATERNAL PARENTING STYLE AND EMOTIONAL DYSREGULATION IN ADULTS
Abstract
This project is a correlational study on perceived paternal parenting style and emotional dysregulation in adults using the Parental Authority Questionnaire (PAQ) and the Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale-SF (DERS-SF) to measure each variable. It wishes to continue to add to the literature on emotional dysregulation, parenting, attachments, and emotional development in children for further studies and real-life practices. It is expected that there is a significant relationship between perceived paternal parenting style and emotional dysregulation in adults. The scope of this project is limited to examining the variables without accounting for difference in age, socioeconomic status, or residential location.
