Life Project Scale and Future Time Orientation Scale: Psychometric Properties and Associations with Well-Being in the Mozambican context
Abstract
The current study examines the psychometric properties of the Future Time Orientation Scale (FTOS) and the Life Project Scale (LPS), looking at differences in scores for both scales regarding gender and age. Furthermore, it assesses how psychological future contributes to subjective well-being. Building on evidence that both future-oriented thinking and engagement in purposeful life projects are positively associated with life satisfaction and affective well-being, we hypothesize that FTO indirectly predicts well-being through life project coherence.
