Optimising the risk assessment of violent recidivism on release from prison: a retrospective cohort investigation - PART 2

This is study two from an Administrative Data UK (ADR UK) funded research fellowship entitled ‘Optimising the risk assessment of violent recidivism on release from prison; a retrospective cohort investigation’, which started on the 28th October 2024. In this second part, we externally validate the Oxford Risk of Recidivism (OxRec) tool, a free to use online violence risk assessment tool originally developed using Swedish population register data. We will also examine whether incorporating education related variables, such as school exclusion, enhances predictive accuracy beyond the core OxRec predictors (i.e., model updating).
