Abstract

People with motor neurone disease (MND) often experience distress following diagnosis. As there is currently no cure for MND, the focus of treatment surrounds management of symptoms and maintaining quality of life throughout progression of the disease. A recent clinical trial has demonstrated the clinical effectiveness of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) within the MND population in maintaining or improving quality of life. The current study seeks to better understand how able non-psychology professionals feel to implement ACT into their practice and any potential barriers and facilitators to this. Reflexive thematic analysis will be utilised to establish themes from participants' experiences.
