The current situation of the Community Land Trusts (CLTs) problem: A Systematic Literature Review of Institutional-Liberal and Critical Perspectives.
Abstract
This Systematic Literature Review (SLR) protocol, structured according to PRISMA guidelines (Page et al., 2021), aims to map, analyze, and synthesize global academic production and production from the Global South regarding Community Land Trusts (CLTs) and their variations, such as the Termo Territorial Coletivo and the Fideicomiso de la Tierra. The investigation is based on the PICo model to reveal the state of the art of publications, seeking to overcome technical and procedural legal descriptions to achieve a critical integration that characterizes the ideological matrices of the theme. The analysis is divided between the institutional-liberal perspective, which addresses the model as a market correction and capture of unearned increment and the critical perspective, which investigates the potential of CLTs as instruments of social emancipation and resistance to the mercantilist logic of land. Operationalized through searches in six databases and catalogs, the resulting qualitative synthesis aims to ground the dialectical structure of a doctoral thesis focused on overcoming capitalist private property.
