Abstract

Description and Research Questions Description This registration formalizes a non empirical, theory structuring study applying the Metaphysical Peace Theory of Spiritual Structural Transformation MPT-SST to religious regulation and conflict dynamics in Bauchi State, Nigeria. The study analyzes the Bauchi State Ministry of Religious Affairs and Societal Reorientation MORASR as a regulatory peacebuilding institution and assesses whether a consciousness informed framework can explain the persistence of religious conflict despite formal governance intervention. The work involves no primary data collection and no human subjects research. It synthesizes existing scholarly literature, policy documents and conflict analyses in order to lock in the theoretical logic, constructs and analytical expectations prior to any future empirical testing. Research Questions RQ1. How does MPT-SST explain the persistence of religious conflict in Bauchi State despite the establishment of a formal regulatory institution such as MORASR? RQ2. What metaphysical, consciousness related and structural gaps in MORASR’s design and operational logic are revealed through the MPT-SST framework? RQ3. How can religious regulation be reframed from administrative oversight into a metaphysical peace praxis integrating consciousness transformation, institutional coherence and relational resonance? 3. Study Design and Analysis Plan Design Theoretical case analysis and comparative conceptual mapping. Data Sources Synthesis of secondary sources including peer reviewed literature on religious conflict in Northern Nigeria, policy documents on religious regulation, reports by NGOs and international organizations and historical analyses of Bauchi State conflict dynamics. Comparative Frameworks The explanatory narrative generated by MPT-SST will be compared with conventional security centric approaches, liberal peacebuilding models and sociological theories of religious regulation to assess whether MPT-SST accounts for dimensions of conflict persistence and peace fragility that alternative frameworks under address. 4. Core Hypothesis and Falsifiability Statement Hypothesis The operational limitations of MORASR reflect a structural and metaphysical disconnection between institutional regulation and the consciousness based dimensions of religious conflict. As a result, regulatory governance produces administratively enforced order without achieving metaphysical coherence or durable relational peace. Falsifiability Statement This theoretical application of MPT-SST would be challenged if the effectiveness or failure of MORASR can be fully explained by conventional variables such as funding levels, staffing capacity, political interference or bureaucratic design alone, without reference to consciousness alignment, identity coherence or relational resonance within the affected communities.
