AUTOGENOUS COLLAGEN AND ALLOGENOUS DERMAL GRAFTS IN ROOT COVERAGE SURGERY: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW WITH META-ANALYSIS.
Abstract
This protocol describes a systematic review and meta-analysis designed to compare autogenous connective tissue grafts and allogenous acellular dermal matrix in root coverage surgery. Based on the PICOS strategy, randomized clinical trials evaluating outcomes such as keratinized tissue width, probing depth, gingival recession, clinical attachment level, and plaque index will be included. Searches will be conducted in electronic databases using predefined eligibility criteria. Study selection, data extraction, and risk of bias assessment will be performed independently by two reviewers, using the Joanna Briggs Institute critical appraisal tool. Meta-analyses will be conducted using random-effects models and inverse variance methods, with heterogeneity assessed by the I² statistic and publication bias evaluated through funnel plots and Egger’s test. The certainty of the evidence will be assessed using the GRADE approach.
