Level of processing (LOP) experiment

This project contains the preregistration, materials, data documentation, and analysis code for an experiment testing the Level of Processing (LOP) framework. The study examines whether memory performance is higher when words are encoded using deep, meaning-based judgements compared with shallow, perceptual/structural judgements. Files are organised into four folders: (1) preregistration (time-stamped plan and analysis decisions), (2) materials (stimuli and task instructions), (3) data (datasets and a variable codebook, with privacy safeguards as needed), and (4) analysis code (SPSS syntax and instructions to reproduce the reported results).
