Attentional Suppression of Dynamic Salient Distractors and Its Transferability
Abstract
Previous studies have shown that dynamic salient distractors are difficult to actively suppress, but when dynamic stimuli are combined with color salience, distractors can be suppressed(Gaspelin & Adams, 2024). The present study aims to further explore the conditions under which dynamic salient distractors can be suppressed. Experiment 1, building upon previous research(Gaspelin & Adams, 2024), investigates whether jitter characteristics, following increased training, can be actively suppressed, and whether this suppression can transfer to other dynamic features. Experiment 2 will explore the impact of salience (high/low jitter frequency) on the suppression of dynamic salient distractors. Experiment 3 will further examine the phase in which suppression of dynamic salient distractors occurs.
