Does the Public Prefer AI or Clinicians? Preferences Across Different Health Advice Use Cases
Abstract
We test whether preferences for AI versus physician health advice reflect a general pro-/anti-AI bias or vary by use case. Participants view one of 27 brief case descriptions (clustered into nine health-advice categories derived from an online health advice forum) and indicate whether they would prefer AI or a physician for a first opinion and for a second opinion.
