Abstract

LENSE stands as a meticulously engineered cryptographic primitive, conceived as a 16×16 Latin square and an optimal 4-bit S-box in one. Its two-phase construction begins with a mathematically pristine, cyclic Latin square, ensuring perfect structural balance. A controlled nonlinear transformation is then applied, cryptographically hardening the structure to achieve theoretical optima in non-linearity, differential uniformity, and algebraic degree—all while preserving the Latin square's intrinsic properties of perfect diffusion and uniformity. Requiring only 26 gate equivalents, LENSE offers a mathematically verifiable, ultra-efficient building block, designed to embed robust security with structural elegance directly into the fabric of next-generation lightweight ciphers.
