Abstract

Children with complex chronic conditions (CCC) require specialised care from their families in the home setting. Caring for these children has a significant impact on the quality of life, mental health and burden of care experienced by families. The aim of this study was to conduct a review of the literature on the quality of life, mental health and burden of care experienced by families caring for children with complex medical conditions(CMC). The research can provide new insights for developing key intervention strategies to address these challenges and improve care for children and their families, both at home and in the hospital setting. When research and evidence are applied to practice, the quality of care and quality of life for children and their families improves.
