Mapping the Psychosocial Ecosystem of Children’s Football Participation and Gender Difference: A Network Analysis of Parental Support, Stereotypes, and Dualistic Passions
Abstract
Dualistic Model of Passion (DMP) distinguishes between harmonious and obsessive passion in sports participation, but their network relationships with gender stereotypes and parental support remain unexplored. This study aims to map the interconnected psychosocial ecosystem that influences children’s football participation. Utilizing network analysis, this study investigated the unique roles and relative importance of parental support, gender stereotypes, and dualistic passions (harmonious and obsessive), identifying the central drivers and structural pathways within this system.
