The impact of mobile-based gamification on learning efficiency in medical education: A systematic review of structural vs. narrative mechanics
Abstract
This systematic review evaluates the impact of mobile-based gamification on medical education, specifically examining how different mechanics, Structural Drills and Narrative Immersion, their influence learning efficiency and clinical competence. The review addresses the "Knowledge-Action" gap in clinical training, where traditional didactic models often fail to engage "digital native" learners or prepare them for the high-stakes complexity of modern medicine. It seeks to determine whether the contextual depth of narrative-heavy games justifies their significant time investment compared to the rapid-fire efficiency of algorithmic drills.
