Meta-analysis of the Diagnostic Test Performance of Type 3 Home Sleep Apnea Tests, Peripheral Arterial Tonometry and Type 2 Polysomnography studies in the Diagnosis of Pediatric Obstructive Sleep Apnea
Abstract
The American Academy of Pediatrics and American Academy of Sleep Medicine recommend in-lab attended type 1 polysomnography (PSG) for the diagnosis of OSA in children. However, these recommendations have not been updated with emerging evidence showing acceptable diagnostic performances of newer out-of-center sleep diagnostic tests. In this meta-analysis we aim to analyze and compare the diagnostic test performances of type 3 home sleep apnea tests (HSATs), peripheral arterial tonometry (PAT) studies and type 2 (unattended/out-of-center) PSGs.
