Mindfulness and Meditation-Based Relapse Prevention for Substance Use Disorders: A Forensic-Informed Clinical Psychiatric Study
Abstract
This study evaluates the effectiveness of an 8-week mindfulness and meditation-based relapse prevention program for individuals with substance use disorders. The study examines clinical outcomes such as relapse rates, treatment adherence, psychosocial functioning, and participant satisfaction. Participants receive structured mindfulness and meditation interventions, and outcomes are measured at baseline, mid-treatment, and post-treatment. The study will include treatment compliance monitoring, attrition analysis, and assessment of both primary and process outcomes. Data collected will be analyzed to identify trends, group differences, and correlations between mindfulness engagement and relapse prevention outcomes. This registration provides a time-stamped record of the study design, measures, and procedures, with materials and datasets planned to be available as components or resources linked to this project. The study content is currently under embargo on Figshare (DOI: [10.6084/m9.figshare.31297492]) and will remain citable and verifiable while private.
