Interconnection, Population, & Awareness: A Shared Existence with Various Things and Beings
Abstract
Interconnection, Population, & Awareness: A Shared Existence with Various Things and Beings presents a phenomenological philosophy of population, arguing that the population question is fundamentally a crisis of consciousness rather than merely a demographic or economic problem. The paper contends that anthropocentrism, the illusion of separation, personal continuity through bloodline, and the expansionary tendencies of human consciousness drive unsustainable growth. It proposes that genuine moderation cannot arise through coercion or policy alone but through awareness of humanity's interconnection with the wider community of life. From this awareness emerge natural moderation, ecological responsibility, coexistence, and an ecological civilization grounded in shared existence rather than domination.
