How Cannabis Affects Young Adult's Emotional Perception?
Abstract
This research project will research into how cannabis consumption can affect emotional perception in young people aged 18-25. The aim of this research is to see if and to what extent the mainstream drug can impact how the youth can identify emotions using a stimulus. The participants will be asked to fill out a consent form prior which will inform them of the aim of the research and they can withdraw during and within two weeks of the study completion. The directional hypothesis for this research study is that those participants who consume the cannabis will have reduced accuracy on recognition of facial expressions compared to those who inhale the placebo cigarette, demonstrating how their emotional perception is impacted.
