Abstract

LivingNexus is a component of GaiaSentinel's Ethical Governance of AI domain, alongside the Manifesto and SeedCheck. It proposes a relational memory architecture for human-AI interaction in which ethical coherence is maintained across scales, from single interactions to long-term trajectory, rather than stored as static data external to the exchange. The architecture is organised around a founding seed (Recognition, Value, Trust, Principle) iterated across temporal, semantic, relational, and identity dimensions, and a two-layer data model distinguishing immutable storage from a living, computable relational layer. Ethical apoptosis, graduated response from regeneration to quarantine to controlled termination, operationalizes Principle VII of the Manifesto at the level of this architecture. SeedCheck audits LivingNexus for multi-scale coherence; it is a companion module, not a component of it. This document (V1.1) establishes a conceptual and architectural foundation, not a deployable system: its metrics and thresholds are provisional, its fractal framing is a structuring metaphor rather than a mathematical foundation, and only its stability guarantees and governance commitments are binding.
