Transition to Parenthood Among Adolescent Couple: A Scoping Review
Abstract
This study is a scoping review that aims to map and synthesize existing evidence on the transition to parenthood among adolescent couples in developing countries. The transition to parenthood in adolescence is a complex, multidimensional process involving biological, psychological, social, and relational changes, occurring at a stage when emotional and social maturity is still developing. Using the Population–Concept–Context (PCC) framework and guided by JBI methodology and PRISMA-ScR, this review will include quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-method studies published between 2015 and 2025. The findings are expected to provide a comprehensive overview of experiences, challenges, and support needs of adolescent couples during the transition to parenthood.
