Diagnostic accuracy of D-dimer testing for splanchnic vein thrombosis: a systematic review
Abstract
D-dimer testing is integral to the diagnostic algorithm for deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism. However, its utility for splanchnic vein thrombosis (SVT) remains controversial due to confounding factors including hepatic dysfunction and local inflammation. This study’s objective was to systematically evaluate D-dimer diagnostic accuracy across different SVT locations, clinical contexts, assay methods, and in combination with other biomarkers.
