Mental health literacy among adolescents with mental disorders: a scoping review
Abstract
Mental health literacy(MHL) is essential for the identification, management and prevention of mental disorders, especially for adolescents with mental disorders. However, the mental health literacy of this group is generally insufficient and is affected by complex factors such as stigma, cultural beliefs, family dynamics, and access to medical services. Most of the existing studies focus on the general population, while the evidence for adolescent patients with mental disorders is still scattered and lacks systematic integration. This scope review aims to systematically sort out the relevant literature on mental health literacy of adolescents with mental disorders, focusing on its core concepts, assessment tools, influencing factors and intervention measures. The results will help to identify research gaps and provide a basis for nursing practice and mental health promotion strategies for this group.
