A Cyclical Model of Star Formation Mediated by Supermassive Black Hole Outflows
Abstract
This study proposes a cyclical model of star formation regulated by feedback from supermassive black holes at galactic centers. Rather than acting solely as accretion sinks, black holes are considered dynamic engines of mass–energy redistribution. High-energy outflows generated in inner accretion regions may compress molecular clouds at specific distances, triggering gravitational collapse instead of uniformly suppressing star formation. The model outlines a self-regulating cycle linking gas inflow, accretion-driven energy release, large-scale outflows, and renewed star formation. This theoretical framework aims to stimulate discussion on feedback-mediated galaxy evolution.
