Abstract

From a global perspective, chronic diseases have become one of the most prominent public health challenges. Moreover, chronic diseases are no longer confined to the elderly; a substantial number of young individuals are also affected. The childbearing years represent a critical period in young adulthood. Chronic diseases significantly affect female patients of reproductive age, influencing fertility intentions, reproductive decisions, pregnancy planning, pregnancy outcomes, fetal prognosis, and postpartum recovery. Although digital and intelligent self-management interventions for patients with chronic diseases have been widely applied and shown positive effects, substantial uncertainties remain regarding the types, scope, nature, characteristics, needs, and effects of such interventions specifically for female patients of reproductive age. Therefore, this scoping review aims to systematically map the existing evidence on digital and intelligent self-management for women of reproductive age with chronic diseases and address the aforementioned knowledge gaps.
