Maintaining a Focus on Opportunities at Work: A Replication Study
Abstract
This study is a constructive replication of the study by Zacher and Frese (2011), investigating how employees may maintain a focus on opportunities at higher ages. Drawing on the selection, optimization, and compensation (SOC) model and theorizing from lifespan psychology, this research examines the interplay between chronological age, job complexity, successful aging strategies (SOC) and focus on opportunities. The aim is to replicate the main effects and interactions and to test the theoretical robustness and generalizability of these findings in a larger and more heterogeneous sample of employees.
