Abstract

This project shares the analysis code for the study "Beyond Capital Embodiment: How Developing Country Manufacturers Achieve Energy Efficiency." The code covers data preprocessing, variable construction, and estimation of a translog cost share system using establishment-level data from Indonesia's Annual Survey of Large and Medium Manufacturing Industries (IBS) for 2010–2019. The analysis examines heterogeneity in capital-energy substitution elasticities across manufacturing industries with different process energy intensities, identifying the mechanisms through which developing country manufacturers achieve energy efficiency gains.
