The Effects of Negative Workplace Gossip about Supervisor on Employees’ behaviors: A meta-analysis based on affective events theory
Abstract
Recently, scholars have begun to examine the impact of negative workplace gossip about supervisors (NWGS) on employees. However, existing research perspectives remain fragmented, necessitating a systematic integration of this field. Grounded in Affective Events Theory (AET), this study employs a meta-analytic structural equation modeling (MASEM) approach to explore the underlying mechanisms and boundary conditions through which NWGS influences employee behavior.
