Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine whether children can accurately identify AI-generated video content and to explore the rationales underlying their identification decisions. In addition to overall detection accuracy, the study examines several factors that may be associated with children’s ability to identify AI-generated content, including child and parent demographic characteristics, parental active mediation, child screen time, child AI use, and child problematic media use (PMU).
