Platelet-Rich Fibrin Membranes in Esthetic-Zone Immediate Implant Placement: A Scoping Review of Clinical Efficacy and Applications
Abstract
Abstract Background: The aim of this scoping review is to evaluate the effectiveness of PRF membranes in primary closure of soft tissue and maintaining bone around immediate implants reported in literature. Methods: This scoping review was performed in accordance with the PRISMA-ScR guidelines. A scoping review was performed, selecting articles from the three electronic databases: PubMed, Cochrane, and EMBASE up to January 2015. Two independent reviewers ran the search strategy in the mentioned databases. Results: A total of 4,860 articles were obtained from various databases. A total of 7 articles met the eligibility criteria. All these studies reported parameters Implant Stability Quotient (ISQ), buccal defect, crestal bone level, and peri-implant probing. Conclusion: This scoping review reveals Platelet-rich fibrin provides clinical benefits in peri-implant healing and stability during immediate implant placement, serving as a safe biological adjunct without significantly influencing overall implant success.
